5 FAVOURITE MASKS OF 2017

Beauty, Skin

As we round up for the year, here are my FIVE favourite masks that I’ve grown to love over time. Achieving good skin is not only a result of hard work, a consistent skin care routine but also knowing your skin well and understand how and what certain products can do for it.

Read to the end of this post and tell me which skin mask you think would work best for you. I’ll be giving away each of the mask below to FIVE different readers. That is 25 of you in total!

All you have to do is to leave a comment on my instagram post sharing with me which of the below 5 masks you’d like to win and why!

Skin Inc’s Facial in-a-flash has been highly raved about by so many. I got introduced to it this year while doing a multi-masking campaign with them and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I promise you, it is the mask where you get to FEEL and SEE almost instantaneous results!

Sheet masks have been a tried and tested method to give your skin that maximum mask benefit as it really locks in all the goodness within the sheet and I would consider it quite a skincare routine staple.

I use it when I’m home doing the chores or working at my laptop, as and when I feel like my skin needs that extra little booster. It is very easy to put on and quite fuss-free as it does not require washing-off. I personally apply the excess liquids all over my body (like my legs and hands) because I don’t want them to go to waste. Haha.

What I love most about Skin Inc is it’s highly customisable products and masks included. They have a mask practically for any and every skin concern- whether or not your face is feeling tight and dehydrated, lacklustre and dull, or if you feel like you’re breaking out- there is a mask for that.

In the three-mask set, there’s the Soothe-n-Purify Black Gold Mask, which is packed with brightening vitamin C, detoxifying charcoal, and anti-inflammatory gold to calm the skin.
Then there’s Lines Be-Gone Rose Gold Mask, a treatment packed with vitamin A and rose to lift.
And finally, the Get Glowin Platinum Mask is a brightening treatment formulated with vitamin B3 to bring a bit of radiance back to your complexion.

And with each of the three masks, there are a whopping 9 permutation to create depending on what your face needs. My choices for what goes on top and bottom differ daily depending on my skin’s ever-changing whims and fancies but I guess that’s what makes this so freaking awesome!

The Umbrian Clay Mask from FRESH is about the BEST Purifying mask I’ve ever used in my life, and I mean it. If you feel like your face needs to rid that extra dirt and clogged pores, this mask will definitely do the job.
It perfectly purifies the skin, vanquishes whiteheads, reduces redness of any blemishes and reduces pore size.

This multi-functional treatment provides instant purifying effect can also be used as a daily deep cleanser or a spot treatment for zits.

I’ve tried quite a few purifying masks in the market and this one has proven to not only soften the skin, making it more supple, clean and fresh.

The Umbrian clay mask contains Umbria clay from Italy, which is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote healthy skin.

The Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask has been a long-time favourite of mine.

I’ve been using it on and off for years now but I always find myself going back to it when I feel like I need a mask that isn’t too rich but good enough to keep my skin supple and hydrated.

The mask comes in a gel like texture which is super light-weight, spreads easily and quickly on the skin and bathes your skin immediately in full hydration.

When applied on the face it provides a soothing and cooling sensation and the scent is very pleasant- it was specifically designed to relax ‘the body and mind for a good night’s sleep’. The patented scent formula apparently comprises of essential oils from orange flower, rose, ylang ylang, sandalwood etc.

If you’re worried about dirtying your pillows, fret not because it absorbs quickly and leaves close to zero residue. I think that’s one of the most important criteria’s for overnight masks because you don’t want to dirty your sheets with it.

Some recommend to use it a couple of times a week but it has become my go-to simplified skincare routine for lazy days when I want to just apply one product and see nice, soft and hydrated looking skin the next morning when I wake up.

Over night leave-on masks are about my favourite thing because my skin care product gets to work throughout the night while I’m sleeping and waking up to good skin is always such a great feeling!

Many always asks how I look so well-rested even though I only clock 6 hours (or less) of sleep. Perhaps this sleeping mask might be the answer?

Lancome’s Énergie De Vie Scrub Mask is my go-to mask when I feel like my skin needs some restoration. It is the mask I leave in my bathroom as it’s most convenient to use right before a shower. It’s recommended leave-on timing is around 3 minutes so within that short span of time, your skin’s moisture content and damanaged top layer is restored, leaving clarified, rehydrated and refreshed looking skin with tightened pores.

I somehow feel like this product works by delivering a solution that replenishes my skin’s lost nutrients and moisture while also revealing newer, lesser damaged skin by exfoliating the dead top layer.

During the wash off, I also love the gentle exfoliation from the small-bead like textures within the mask. It is not too harsh but extremely gentle and refreshing.

I’ve always been raving about the Advanced Night Repair (ANR) but this Estee Lauder’s ANR Eye Mask takes eye masking to a whole new level with it’s high concentration that has been proven to me to be so so powerful.

Instantly, my eye area feels cool and refreshed and in just 10 minutes, my eyes look more rested, renewed fine, dry lines are plumped as skin is drenched with hydration. My eyes look radiant immediately and feels rejuvenated even with lack of sleep.

The eye mask and serum come separated in the packet so you have to pop the serum into the other pocket and it will drench and saturate the masks. Application is really easy as it sits perfectly under your eyes. I like to massage the remaining or exccess serum in after. My under eye area skin feels cool and soothed as it provides a lovely sensation upon application!

The recommended usage is once a week so I like to time this just before a big event or date when I want that extra little boost for my under-eye.
