Happy almost Valentine’s Day, loves! Thought it’d be a perfect opportunity to share with you how I’d prep for my Valentine’s Day date- from my outfit, to accessories, to make up and of course my hair-do.
When deciding on my outfit, the key is to pick something sexy, romantic but not too scandalous. Go for a colour that you feel best suits your personality, but I’d recommend leaning towards blush, the reds like burgundy and or the more feminine tones and pastels. I decided to go for a red mini dress from Kate Spade, paired with a cute pair of bow heels and the sweetest heart handbag that says “unlock my heart” when you open the clasp.
The cat wing eyeliner is quite my signature eyeliner look as it’s easy to carry off, simple but yet bold enough for the look that I’m hoping to achieve. I prefer to keep my eyelids clean, so a darker liner gets the job done for my eyes.
I’m using a soft gel pencil/crayon liner with a really fine tip from Shu Uemura for precision and clean lines.
Especially since I’m getting ready to go for a dinner date, I’d opt for that perfect bold matte red lip. Given that I’m keeping the rest of the make up on my face minimal, the red lip is a great finishing touch to the overall look, definitely not too overdone. I’m using the Diorific Mat in shade 950.
Now on to the hair! For my hair, it’s all about looking effortlessly romantic- nothing too overdone, deliberate or polished. I dried my hair with my trusty Dyson Supersonic to get some light texture and volume especially from the roots.
To achieve light loose curls, I placed the ends of my hair on the diffuser, with maximum heat and the lowest fan speed. This is so that the heat can set the curls and add texture and volume to my ends as well.
To end, I’m adding on a pair of simple ear studs from Kate Spade. Once again: subtle details and nothing too over the top.
I think that would be how James likes it too.
