Jonathan’s Move.

So the day has finally arrived where Jonathan has moved to Singapore. It really feels very surreal that all these is happening so quickly.

In a way, it’s quite unimaginable that just one year ago, we were in Singapore (together) as well, visiting the most touristy places, and indulging in the most possible local food. I was then extremely anxious to take him to places and for the both of us to experience the best of what Singapore has to offer. At this time last year, we were both trying very hard to figure out our relationship, and to cut the long story short, we decided that what we had was worth the wait, and definitely worth the fight, so we both mutually decided that we were going to make this work.

Just so you don’t wrongly assume, last year was NOT his first trip to Singapore, he spent almost 5 months here the year before (i.e. two years ago), during the same time period to complete his internship at EY. It’s unbelievable that those days seem so far away but yet they have gone by so quickly.

I think the most difficult part was the final lab, which also happened to be the longest stretch of time for which we didn’t meet up, so it was indeed a real long long distance relationship. It may be safe to put a number of -5 or 6 months.

The story of how we met and all is a pretty damn long one, and I promise I will get to that blog post in a matter of time. But well, the last 5 to 6 months was the most bittersweet period of our LDR. Keeping in mind that it was the last and final stretch, it made it a lot easier for us to pull through together. Usually, when you know the end is near, it definitely gives you a lot more perseverance and motivation to stick at it to the last, it really just gave us something to look forward to. Uncannily, we poked fun at one another missing the late night skype calls, the surprise flowers and mails that come to the house, and everything else that came along with bearing a LDR.

As much as I look back on those LDR days and cherish them very dearly, I am very happy to say that the end of it has come, and we are finally together in the same place, from now going forward.

As cheesy as this is going to sound, the last chapter has closed with a great ending, and a new beginning has started with a promising adventure ahead of us.

I am so happy that I have this social space to share my thoughts and feelings. I’m very thankful that my readers are always so reassuring and kind. I’m very appreciative of my friends that have stuck through with Jon and I during our ups and downs.

From the bottom of my heart (and on behalf of my favourite boy), thank you so much! 🙂
