Happy New Year everyone!
I thought I should mark of the very first post this year with a personal message, sharing some personal thoughts, my resolutions as well as some of my hopes for the coming year.
Not sure if you managed to read my last reflective entry to close 2014, but I decided to do it on the very last day so I didn’t have much time to prepare for it.
I’ve never believed in setting resolutions for myself because they always get forgotten and neglected within a few weeks time, sometimes even days. It’s really a tough challenge staying committed to our resolutions and goals but I like to think of it this way- that a new year brings new opportunity, and opportunities gives us hope. It gives all of us a fresh start and a chance to press the restart button where we can make the wrongs right, clean up all the negativity and kick away bad habits.
Here are two of my resolutions that I want to share:
Allow positivity to breed. For myself, I feel like time has given me a natural progression to be a happier and more positive person, I would like to just keep up with that trend this year. Hardly anything can get in my way, because I love myself and I am very appreciate of all that I have. I think having gratitude is the first step to embracing positivity. There is so much that you and I have that many other people in the world would yearn for: things as simple as the gift of sight, mobility, friendship, family, love.
We need to always remind ourselves of all the blessings bestowed upon us, and share what we have with those who don’t. There’s so much to be happy and thankful for every single waking moment.
Declutter my life and schedule things better. 2014 has been a crazy schedule packed year. I could cite moments running from an airplane straight to a meeting and from an event straight to the airport. There had been a few days where I jam-packed 3 photoshoots, 2 fittings and a meeting all at once. I’ve had 15 hour long days working without proper meals. I’m known for always chewing a lot more than what I can swallow and this has almost become my 2014 “trademark”.
This year, I hope to be more productive but yet less busy. I’ve already started being selective about the clients I work with, and I hope to lead a more balanced life, with more time dedicated to my family, friends and those that matter. There is an end-goal in my mind, but I want to savour the process more, and treasure each passing moment with all my heart.
Not sure if you’ve noticed but Ladymojo has taken a back seat recently. That is because I’m in the midst of cleaning up the back end operations, as I’ll be allocating the work to a couple of people whom I can trust. Ladymojo is still very much dear to me, and I have big plans for it but I can (and only will) share when the time is ripe.
In 2014, I’ve put a lot of effort in growing my blog and instagram into a brand. It was a year of discovery, hard work, commitment and a lot of wonderful experiences.
I’ve built a community of loyal followers that actually take the time to read what I write here and check back on my instagram feed for my postings. I hope my platforms will continue to inspire you in 2015. I hope it will help you find positive energy, motivation and encouragement when you need it most. Thank you for journeying with me through my ups and downs, achievements and setbacks, and accepting me as a person and a friend. It truly humbles me.
In the coming few months, I will be focusing my efforts on just a couple of major campaigns that I will put my entire heart and soul into.
2015, I can’t wait to see you unfold.
