There’s nothing quite like sitting in a pretty cafe, enjoying a good meal with good company. In my mind, Strangers’ Reunion is quite a perfect place for that occurrence. Co-founded by three-time Singapore Barista Champaion Ryan Tan, they offer a menu of speciality coffee with beans roasted and blended in-house. This cafe is definitely one to visit if you’re all about drinking good coffee (and food).
I’ve always been speaking so fondly of their buttermilk waffles, sharing with my friends that they serve the “best waffles in Singapore!”. This is my something my group of friends and I would synonymously agree on to order them each and every single visit no matter how stuffed we might be.
I now have so much more than just the waffles to recommend. After a delectable meal with my fellow blogger friends last week, we got try a taste of their newest menu– a load of amazingly curated dishes that has left a very lasting impression on my taste buds even as I’m penning some thoughts on my experience right now!
Some of the note-worthy dishes we tried were the Tuna Tataki Nicoise Salad, Ocean Trout on Hash, the traditional Eggs Benedict, the oh-so-amazing Berry Ricotta Hotcake and the very smooth and flavourful Chocolate Panna Cotta! The poached eggs on all the dishes we tried were cooked perfectly. Some of them had a tinge of truffle flavour and got me immediately hooked onto them. I’d suggest a couple of visits so that you get a chance to try all their items on the menu! They are all equally worth a taste.
As my top pick, I’m still debating between Buttermilk Waffles and the newest addition to their menu, the Berry Ricotta Hotcake. The hotcakes way surpassed my expectations when they brought out a plate of vibrant and colourful looking “thing” covered in a generous serving of fluffy hotcakes (and I mean, seriously fluffy), served with fresh berries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It does not only look extremely instagram-worthy but it’s taste meets the standard and goes far beyond. Please try it for yourselves so that you know exactly what I mean.
It was honestly such a delightful meal, especially in the company of those girls. I am sure I will be heading back very often. It is undoubtedly one of my favourite hang out spots with friends, cafes to hold meetings and a weekend brunch destination. Say hi if you bump into me!
