Since a little girl, I’ve always had some vague idea of my “dream gown” in mind– from browsing through bridal magazines, to watching movies, to pinning my inspirations on pinterest.
The making of this gown all started with a meeting at Swarovski’s office, where my wedding planner, my stylist, the Swarovski team, Vaughn Tan (the designer) and myself sat down to discuss and vocalise our ideas and thoughts. Vaughn took my measurements and started pin-pointing aspects of my body that he thought would be nice to focus on- like my collarbones and curved back. Given my relatively straight body-type, he also recommended a drop waist ball gown with volume at the bottom and crystal details at the top. We had a first look of the gorgeous jewelry from Atelier Swarovski’s Bridal Collection and learnt that I would have the privilege of being the first one to wear it.
When I first saw the gown hanging on the rack during my first fitting, I was blown away by the amount of crystals embellished in the bodice and around the entire skirt. So much effort was put into ruching the fabric and mixing and matching different types of crystals to fit the design of the lace. It exuded ethereal softness and grace, created by the effects of layering, lace and intricate detailing.
